Now for the first time ever in full HD, this first rare Kung Fu documentary following one of the UK's most iconic Hip Hop club nights.
Around the turn of the century a golden era of underground independent Hip Hop artists and music appeared to come flooding out of nowhere taking the country's youth by storm. Kung Fu started out around the year 2000 as a series of small club nights held in various bars around North London first incorporating DJ Sarah Jane (Harry's then girlfriend) and Harry Love joined them shortly after, bringing a slew of artists & contacts with him.
The night quickly outgrew the small venues and Harry suggested they relocate to the unsavoury Camden Underworld, assuring the team that despite it's poor history it would be the right venue for their audience and performers.
The venue change from WKD to The Underworld was initiated for Harry Love's 20th Birthday Birthday Bash which hosted a formidable extravaganza line-up and for the first time in the 500 capacity venue's history there was a full house plus a road block with just as many people unable to get in (yes that's right, over 1000 people attended).
Unorthodox Styles/Crooked Tongues came aboard as sponsors of the night and created a monthly web-series called "Kung Fu TV" hosted by the talented A-Cyde who would interview the performers each month. Being 2001 there was no YouTube and hosting the internet bandwith to supply the demand was a very expensive and technical undertaking at the time so unfortunately after a couple of years the web-series had to be taken down never to be seen again.... until now.
